Top Tips for a 100% Fun (0% Stress) Wedding Weekend with Family and Friends
Getting married is one of the most important events of anyone’s life. Even if they wouldn’t change a thing about their wedding day, often couples will say that it was a blur—it went by too fast—and they hardly had any time to spend with each guest.
Stretching the wedding experience over an entire weekend or multiple days is an ideal solution to allow you (the couple getting married) to spend more quality time you’re your closest loved ones. It’s also an excellent way for each of your families and friends to get to know one other.
If you are considering holding a multi-day weekend, here are some top tips to ensure it’s fun, meaningful and stress-free, and how Kippure Estate can help you experience a wedding weekend you will actually remember!
All-in-One Venue
Creating a weekend wedding where all of the activities are close together makes it more convenient for guests to attend as many events as they’d like and also enables you to spend more time with them. Kippure Estate loves hosting multi-day weddings and is able to provide a venue for your entire nuptial weekend, including your ceremony (from a proceeding outdoors in our gorgeous Celtic Circle to a romantic indoor setting); your wedding reception (from a large-scale Marquee affair to an intimate feast with organically sourced dishes); accommodations for up to 120 guests; and organized and impromptu leisure and entertainment.
Weekend Kick-off
Break the ice by organizing an event at the beginning of your wedding weekend, to set a comfortable and fun tone for the rest of the festivities. This might be a family-friendly scavenger hunt that Kippure Estate can help you organize, a cocktail party, a bonfire with music and stories or a delicious pig roast.
Organized Activities and Special Events
Throughout the weekend, it’s nice to offer your guests the option of participating in activities and special events, so you get to see them more and to feel joy from knowing they are having so much fun! At Kippure Estate, some possible activities to consider include outdoor adventures (likearchery, high ropes courses, abseiling, treasure hunts and orienteeringchallenges) or some more relaxing natural experiences, such as guided or independent walks around our 240-acre estate. You can also plan extra events, such as a brunch the day after the wedding, a themed dance, a night in our cosy bar or a rustic barbecue. Make sure you do not plan too many activities, as free slots in the schedule can give guests (and you) some time to relax and share some impromptu quality time together.
