Subud, a worldwide spiritual organisation and charity using the tranquillity of Kippure to provide healing and enlightening retreats.

Subud is a non-denominational organisation and charity whose members follow the spiritual practice known as the Latihan Kejiwaan. This is a natural process that is open to anyone who asks for it, with no rituals or instructions involved. It is a different experience for each person who follows this path, bringing with it spiritual awareness appropriate to the individual’s needs. Membership is open to all and we do not discriminate on any basis. Subud is not a religion and thus anyone of any faith may join, as may those who follow no religion. Subud does not aim to change the religious beliefs or practices of anyone and there is no particular Subud dogma. The essence of Subud is the personal experience of the Latihan.

There are currently active members of Subud in 83 countries around the world and 54 of these countries are members of the World Subud Association (WSA). Founded in 1991 and registered in Washington DC, USA, the WSA is a non-profit organisation that enables the various national Subud organisations to work together and support their practice of the Latihan, as well as any educational, cultural, social or entrepreneurial activities that Subud members may be involved in.

What Subud has to say about our services: We are an International Organisation and Charity that is aimed at the advancement of religion and the worship of Almighty God. We are multi-denominational and worship together in the Latihan Kedjiwaan (Spiritual Exercise). We have found Kippure to be a special place of quiet peaceful energy in nature which is a perfect place for our needs. We have as many International guests, as from Ireland, and they come back time after time saying that the whole experience is healing and enlightening. The staff at Kippure are really sensitive to the needs of the guests and always available to be help unobtrusively. We recommend Kippure for such special meetings where the environment is important or just for a weekend to absorb the peace and serenity of the Wicklow Mountains.
