At Kippure Estate we provide accommodation for up to 150 people, a busy wedding, party and meeting venue and a multitude of outdoor activities for corporate, school and private groups. Receptionist / Front of House Assistant

No. of positions: 1 x full-time
1 x part-time

Start: Immediate
Duration: Initial 6-month contract with possible extension

Kippure Estate is looking to fill a full-time and part-time position in its busy front of house department.

This role includes the following responsibilities: 

  • Handle all incoming calls and perform general and accommodation booking-related administrative duties, including processing reservations and meeting room coordination.
  • Meet and greet. Register guests; showing them to their rooms or lodges, providing information etc. Preparing invoices and taking payments.
  • Ad-hoc duties – working alongside the events- and hospitality teams and any associated admin support as required, such as ordering stationery.  

Experience & Qualities

  • Previous receptionist and face-to-face customer experience is essential for this role. An upbeat and enthusiastic attitude. Be welcoming, friendly and approachable with customers.
  • The suitable candidate will have at least 2 years' experience working in a busy front office environment. Working knowledge of a PMS system (Opera, Hotsoft or similar) would be an advantage!
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) is a vital.
  • Excellent organisational skills; including good time management - able to prioritise workload and make best use of available time effectively.
  • Able to cope well when under pressure from competing priorities, unpredictable requests and interruptions.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Own transport is required (no public transport to Kippure Estate).

Please note that this position involves weekend and shift work – flexibility in working hours is a must.


Banqueting Floor Supervisor - Maternity Cover

Salary: On Request
Start: 1st March 2017
Duration: Initial 6-month contract with possible extension

Kippure Estate is looking to fill a full-time maternity cover in its busy catering department within the role of Banqueting Floor Supervisor.

This role includes the following responsibilities: 

  • Supervision and rostering of the Floor Staff regarding all aspects of food delivery to ensure the agreed standards of service are maintained.
  • Ensuring that dining and meeting rooms catering requirements are set up to the required standards.
  • Work within a team environment to ensure the highest standards of customer service, cleanliness and hygiene are maintained throughout Kippure Estate.

Experience & Qualities

  • Previous banqueting/face-to-face customer experience is essential for this role. An upbeat and enthusiastic attitude. Be welcoming, friendly and approachable with customers.
  • Experience of managing staff.

Waiting Staff

Kippure Estate is looking for full-time and part-time staff to join our busy waiting staff team.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Should have previous banqueting/restaurant experience within the trade.
  • Fluent English.
  • A friendly open personality and a love of working in the hospitality trade.
  • Must be flexible with working hours as it does involve weekend work.
  • Own transport is required (no public transport to Kippure Estate).

Chef de Partie - Part-time

Salary: On request

Kippure Estate is looking for a Chef de Partie to join its busy kitchen team preparing banqueting food.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Strong background in either a hotel or restaurant environment.
  • Implementing a very high standard of food produced throughout the operation.
  • Strong banqueting experience required.
  • Liaising with the management throughout the property with regards customer needs.

Experience & Skills:

  • Proven track record in an excellent food property.
  • Must be creative and innovative when carrying out your duties.
  • Extremely well-organised Chef.
  • Able to produce an excellent standard of food.
  • Previous experience in this role or similar.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • Own transport required.

Activities Manager / Event Manager

Manor Kilbride, Blessington, County Wicklow, Ireland. One of Ireland’s fastest growing Outdoor Adventure Centres, Kippure Estate in County Wicklow, is looking for a talented Activities Manager. With experience of managing staff and clients, candidates will be able to work in a fast-paced demanding environment as well as be resourceful, creative and result-orientated. This is a challenging role that requires excellent communication and team building skills, the ability to succeed and a flexible approach to the nature of our business.

This role involves the following responsibilities:

  • Managing, recruiting, training and monitoring instructors. Organising and supervising staff prior to and during events.

  • Providing instruction and/or guidance in specialist areas, such as high ropes activities, safety & rescue, climbing activities or mountain based activities.

  • Planning appropriate programmes of outdoor- and team building activities for groups while liaising with teachers or managers of a group. Briefing and debriefing groups before and after activities.

  • Ensuring adherence to safety regulations at all times, ensuring that equipment and facilities are safe and that clients are instructed in safety procedures.

  • Purchasing, checking, maintaining and preparing equipment. Regular inventory.

  • Other duties include advising on equipment for outdoor activities, writing up reports, organising staff payments, keeping staff records and other administration.

Experience & Skills:

  • Ideal candidates will have been in a similar role for at least two years and are looking for the next step on the career ladder.

  • Candidates must have both the hard and soft skills required for work in the outdoor industry.  High ropes training and experience in corporate event management / team building would be an asset 

  • A valid first-aid certificate appropriate for this role.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours.

  • Own transportation is essential.


Multi-Activity Instructors

Kippure Estate is looking to fill full-time and part-time positions in its busy adventure department for its 2017 season. We provide multi-activity adventure programmes for schools, private and corporate groups.

This role involves the following responsibilities:

  • Providing a high level of safety and customer service whilst taking clients through their activity programme both on-site and for off-site events.
  • Set up and de-prep of activities daily.
  • Maintaining all equipment and adventure ropes course and carry out safety checks of same.
  • Carrying out maintenance on adventure areas.

 Experience & Skills:

  • Ideal candidates will have been in a similar role for at least two years.
  • Candidates must have both the hard and soft skills required for work in the outdoor industry.  High ropes training and experience in corporate event management / team building would be an asset. 
  • A valid first-aid certificate appropriate for this role.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours.

Kitchen Assistant

Kippure Estate is looking for an experienced kitchen pot washer to join the busy kitchen team.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Should have a previous experience working in a kitchen in a similar role.
  • Good English language skills.
  • A friendly open personality and work well within a team.
  • Be expected to help with food preparation and other kitchen related duties.
  • Must be flexible with working hours as it does involve weekend work.
