Many people are scared organising a hen night, but it really isn’t’ that frightening
Hen nights have changed! In the past, a hen night just consisted of the soon to be bride having a night out on the town with a group of friends and, possibly, some relatives. And, the town concerned would have been the town the bride lived in. It was generally a cheap affair and only lasted a few hours.
Although some hen nights like that may still go on, most of them have turned into elaborate affairs requiring organisation and often more money.
It is basic, common sense that physical activity reaps many rewards. When exercise takes place outdoors, however, the health benefits are significantly heightened.
At Kippure Estate, we are so fortunate to be able to facilitate challenging, yet fun, outdoor activities in a naturally pristine environment. Our high and low ropes, orienteering, survival, treasure hunt, walking and adrenaline rush activities are set amidst old growth forests and ancient farmlands abutting the Wicklow Mountains. Learning by doing…
Kippure Estate’s Education Department is delighted to welcome a new member of staff, Yaqoub BouAynaya from Dublin, to the department as Administrative Officer. He joined the department in February and has been a great support answering phones and advising teachers on the best school tours for their pupils. He certainly has been kept busy as the school tour booking season has started in earnest. We have introduced so many new packages to cover all budgets that it takes time to go through them all. The epic Art O’Neill Challenge took place again recently (January 13th- 14th). The 55 km-route commenced in Dublin and ended in Glenmalure, passing through the nearby Wicklow Mountains National Park. Approximately 450 brave walkers and hikers wearing winter hats, waterproof pants and head torches, armed with emergency kits and GPS devices participated in this ultimate trek, retracing the steps of Hugh Roe O’Donnell and Art O’Neill from over 400 years ago.
Participants had the choice of walking or running the roadway and cross-country terrain. Walkers commenced one minute before midnight, a feat that typically takes between 12 and 16 hours. … Continue reading →
